The first production of iron in the Spessart is lost in the darkness of history, although iron has been extracted in Central Europe since around 700 BC. All the better known is the history of the iron hammer at Hasloch, which began operations in 1779 as a simple hammer mill and still has two functional large hammers today.

Many "Alumnae" followed the invitation to the pensioner meeting in Hasloch, to see the Kurtz Ersa historic centre with Iron Hammer Works, museum and manor house. A beautiful occasion in a great ambience to meet former colleagues and friends.
